Your information

Privacy.

When you contact me at Brontide Media, I use the details you provide to respond to your enquiry and discuss your project. Please only share the information needed for that conversation.

The data controller is BRONTIDE MEDIA LTD (company number 11065719). You can contact us at tom@tomhunterfilms.com. Our registered office is Unit 3 Scott Hall Mills, Scott Hall Street, Leeds, England, LS7 2HT.

Information you send

The website enquiry form asks for your name, email address and project brief. You can also add a company, date or deadline, location and budget. These extra fields are optional. We use what you send to reply and discuss or quote for the work you have asked about. We do not use enquiry details to send marketing emails. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a brief.

If you choose the email option, the site opens a draft in your email application for you to review and send. If you submit the website form, Vercel hosts the site and processes the request, and Resend delivers the enquiry to Brontide’s inbox. The website does not make automated decisions about your enquiry.

Why we can use this information

If you ask us to quote or take another step towards a contract with you, we use the information needed for that request on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. If you contact us on behalf of an organisation, our basis for replying is our legitimate interest in responding to relevant business enquiries and assessing whether we can work together. We also use limited technical information to protect the website and enquiry inbox from abuse, based on our legitimate interest in keeping those services available and secure.

Optional website analytics

If you choose to allow analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site, and where they stop before contacting us. This may include the pages visited, the referring site or campaign, approximate location and device details, and actions such as playing a showreel, choosing a contact option, starting an enquiry form, encountering a form error or submitting an enquiry successfully. We use these reports to improve the website and explain our services more clearly. The events we send to Analytics do not include your name, email address, project brief or other form entries.

Analytics is optional. We do not load Google Analytics or send it website events unless you choose to allow it. Your consent is the basis for this processing. We keep your choice on this device for six months so you do not have to answer on every visit. You can change or withdraw it at any time through Analytics settings in the footer or here:

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits. We configure them to expire after six months, though your browser may limit them sooner. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection and removes the analytics cookies set on this site; it does not automatically erase information already collected. User-level and event-level data in Analytics follows the property’s retention setting, while standard aggregate reports may remain available for longer. Contact us for the current setting or to ask about deletion of data already collected. Google explains its Analytics cookies and data retention controls.

Abuse prevention

To limit repeated form submissions and attempts to guess the editor or protected availability password, the website uses the source IP address supplied by Vercel. Enquiry limits also use the email address entered in the form. Before these identifiers are stored in private rate-limit records, they are converted into keyed hashes. The records contain only those hashes, attempt counts and reset times, not plain IP or email addresses. The limits stop counting after at most one hour; a daily cleanup normally removes the records within about 27 hours of their last update.

How long we keep enquiries

We keep enquiries that do not lead to client work for 12 months. If we work together, we keep the related client and project records for six years.

Processing outside the UK

Vercel may process website requests outside the UK, including in the United States. Vercel says it is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework; its security information explains this. Resend stores submitted email content and delivery logs in the United States. Its data processing addendum says UK transfers use the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses. If you allow analytics, Google may also process analytics data outside the UK, including in the United States. Google describes the safeguards it uses for international transfers. Contact us if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

Other services

Vimeo video is loaded when you choose to play it. If you follow a WhatsApp, Instagram or Vimeo link, you leave this site and those services apply their own privacy policies. The website does not include advertising trackers.

Availability

The protected availability view shows busy days only. Calendar event titles, client names and locations are not shared with visitors.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may be able to ask for a copy of your personal information, have it corrected or erased, restrict its use, or receive it in a portable format. To make a request or raise a concern, contact tom@tomhunterfilms.com. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.

Your right to object

You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Email tom@tomhunterfilms.com to tell us you object.

Complaints

Please contact us first if you have a concern about how we use your information. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) through its data protection complaints service or call 0303 123 1113.
